Lady Lions Fire on All Cylinders in 10-0 Rout of Wesleyan

For a second straight game, the Piedmont College women’s soccer team played in their home complex taking down Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon by a 10-0 scoreline.

CIERRA BELINKIE and EMILY SKELTON combined in goal for the shutout though the Lady Lions faced just a single shot from the Wolves with that effort coming in the second half.

Piedmont scored four times in the first half and six times in the second half in a well-balanced day as eight different players scored the ten goals for the home team.

It was JAZMIN PENADO who scored first for PC tallying a goal in the 23rd minute on a drive to the far post.  It was Penado’s first goal of the season as six of the players who scored for PC on the day would find the net for the first time this season.

The Lady Lions would score three times in the final 15 minutes of the first half before getting right back to work in the second with a goal from SAVANNAH CASTLES who finished a HALEY HALL cross from the right less than two minutes in.

Piedmont would add two more in the next seven minutes and three in the final ten to set the 10-0 scoreline against the Wolves of Wesleyan.

Turning Point
–Though Piedmont was up 4-0 at half, SAVANNAH CASTLES‘ goal less than two minutes into the second half sent the Lady Lions to a dominating performance over the USA South foe.
