Clyde V. Harper Jr.

obit flagClyde V. Harper Jr., son of Clyde and Ruth Harper, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2016.
A devoted father and husband, he is survived by his loving wife Lee, his children, Janet, Steve and Jonmikel, three grandchildren, Christopher, Quinton and Ava, and siblings, Marilyn, Margaret, Gary, Charley and Wayne. Harper, as he was known to most, was born in Habersham Mills, GA and was a lifelong avid Tigers baseball fan. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and at the time of his retirement was the President of Aon Risk Services, Construction Services Division, Washington DC branch.

After attending Wayne University in Detroit, he began as a Bond Underwriter for USF&G Company, occupying that position from 1954 to 1960. He went on to manage bond departments in several cities for CNA Insurance between 1960 and 1972.

He later became President of Collier Cobb & Associates of Virginia, serving in that capacity from 1972 to 1990. In 1990, Collier Cobb and Associates merged with Corroon and Black, and then immediately merged with Willis Corroon where he held the office of President of the Construction Industry Division.

An open house to celebrate his life will be held at the family residence in Clarkesville, GA on Saturday, September 10th, from 2:00 to 5:00pm.
