Two people are dead following an early morning wreck today in Banks County. The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Georgia 51.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, 17-year old Harold Chambers of Commerce was driving a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria eastbound on GA 51 when his car traveled into the westbound lane. Chambers’ car struck the front of a 1991 Ford F-150 driven by 29-year old Dana Lefevre of Homer.
Corp. J.S. Munger of the GSP Post 6 in Gainesville says both vehicles spun out of control and ended up on the north shoulder of the road.
Lefevre was pronounced dead at the scene. Chambers died on his way to the hospital.
