Competition set for local Paralympian McKenzie Coan

(Toccoa) The first two swimming events are set for Paralympian McKenzie Coan as she has arrived in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

After the September 7 opening ceremonies, Coan will compete in the 100-meter backstroke event on September 8 and the 50-meter freestyle competition on September 9. Afternoon and evening events will be telecast via NBCSN.

Toccoa Clinic’s “Memory Book Relay” continues as citizens in the region are signing it with good wishes for Coan. Citizens may also write personal notes for inclusion in the memory book by mailing them to “Hero in Rio” at 58 Big A Road, Toccoa, 30577.
