Cornelia businesses entertain kids as parents enjoy a night on the town
The Cornelia Business Association hosted its first Downtown Date Night at Foothills Community Church in Downtown Cornelia on Friday, August 19. Fifteen businesses in Cornelia were on hand to entertain families throughout the night.
Community Development Manager Jessie Owensby says, “Our business hosted about 50 children on Friday night, and we all really enjoyed it! The kids were able to go to different stations depending on what their preferences were.” Owensby adds that the goal was to promote existing downtown businesses and the Cornelia Business Association made sure that goal was achieved.
Parents were able to pre-register and drop off their kids at Foothills Community Church. The Creative Canvas, Petz Gone Wild, Premiere Dance Academy, and the Friends of the Library were all at the church to help entertain the children. The parents were able to get a discount for dinner at El Patron, AJ’s Pizza Pub, Midtown Grill, Fresco’s, Chef’s Touch Bistro, Food Factory, Natalie Jane’s and Whistle Top Brew Company.
“The Cornelia Business Association is planning to host another Date Night in the future, and they hope to get even more people involved,” says Owensby.
