Dorothy Loudermilk Lathan, age 87 of Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 13, 2016 following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on May 23, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William Daniel & Rosa LaCount Loudermilk. Mrs. Lathan retired after many years of service with Piedmont Automotive. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and loved to sew. Mrs. Lathan was a member of the Hazel Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Lathan, brothers, Garrison, James, Hilliard, Russell, Homer, Ray, & Haskell Loudermilk; sisters, Ellene Perry, Wilma Edmonds, & Viola Williams; sons-in-law, H.L. Kastner, & Maurice Smith.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Kastner of Clarkesville, Eunice Smith, Hilda & Roy Kastner, Krista & Roy Collins all of Mt. Airy; sister, Margie Nichols of Alpharetta; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2016 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the service hour on Monday.
