Truett Signs 10 in 2016 Recruiting Class

Head coach Tron Griffin has announced the Truett McConnell women’s basketball team has signed 10 players in the 2016 recruiting class.

The players will report to campus starting Saturday, August 13, for the first move-in day at Truett McConnell.

Hannah Ambrose – 5’11 Forward – McDonough, Ga. – Union Grove High School

Ambrose plans to major in Mathematics.

Kendall Bowman – 5’1 Guard – Calhoun, Ga. – Sonoraville High School

Bowman holds multiple records at Sonoraville High School, including most three-pointers made in a career (105), most three-pointers in a game (6) and second in assists in a career. She led Sonoraville to two region championships and a Sweet 16 appearance in the GHSA State Tournament. She was also recruited by Piedmont College and Covenant College. She plans to major in Biology.

Madison Curtis – 5’11 Forward – Nashville, Tenn. – Nashville Christian

Curtis was named to the All-District team member in her junior and senior years, highlighted by recording the most rebounds and blocks for Nashville Christian her senior year. She was also recruited by Trevecca Nazarene University, Berry College, Oglethorpe University, Aurora College, Hope College, Spaulding University, Lincoln Memorial University Converse College and Covenant College.

Mariah Danuser – 6’1 Forward – Anderson, S.C. – Home School

Danuser won three state championships in South Carolina and recorded 1,700 points and 1,000 rebounds in her high school career. She was also recruited by Spartanburg Methodist Junior College, Mary Baldwin College, Southern Wesleyan University and Converse College. She will major in Exercise Science.

Quinlan Hughes – 6’1 Forward – Tucker, Ga. – Tucker High School

Hughes led Tucker to two region championships and two state championship games, including one state championship in her junior year. She was also recruited by Jacksonville State University, Central Methodist University, Pfeiffer University, Montreat College, Reinhardt University, Virginia Union University, Southeastern Illinois University, Cumberland University and Murray State. She will study Criminal Justice at Truett McConnell.

Savannah Mullis – 6’0 Forward – Commerce, Ga. – Commerce High School

Mullis led Commerce to two GHSA State Tournament appearances in her final two years in high school, highlighted by an Elite 8 appearance her junior year. She also pulled down the most rebounds in both her junior and senior years. She will be a pre-med student at Truett McConnell

Caroline Scott – 5’7 Guard – Mt. Juliet, Tenn. – Mt. Juliet Christian Academy

Scott was an All-District and All-Tournament team member in her senior year and was also named MVP and best offensive player at Mt. Juliet the same season. She was also recruited by Cumberland University and Shorter University. She plans to major in Business.

Janae’ Simpson – 5’11 Forward – Evans, Ga. – Greenbriar High School

In her senior year, Simpson was named to the Columbia County All-Star Team and was also awarded with the Directors Cup Choice Award. She led Greenbriar to a Sweet 16 appearance in the GHSA State Tournament in her junior year. Simpson was also recruited by UVA-Wise and Cal State Fullerton. She plans to major in Biology.

Ashleigh Stanley – 5’3 Guard – Dacula, Ga. – Piedmont College

Stanley was named to the Gwinnett County All-Star team in her senior campaign. She transfers to TMU after one season in Demorest, Georgia, at Piedmont. She was also recruited by Oglethorpe University, the University of North Georgia, Lipscomb University and Agnes Scott College. She plans to major in Nursing.

Amy Vincent – 5’5 Guard – Martinez, Ga. – Home School

Vincent was named a team captain as well as best offensive and defensive player. She plans to major in Nursing.
