A new learning portal is coming to Tallulah Falls School this fall. Virtual reality field trips will now be possible with the help of Samsung Galaxy S7 devices with a special virtual reality headset.

With more than 300 field trips available through the Google Expeditions App, teachers can select options to complement classroom lessons. Examples include historic sites, national parks, current event locations, college campuses, science applications and so much more.

Teachers choose an appropriate field trip for the class to experience, leading the class through a tablet application.

Both middle and high school students will have access to the devices with a classroom set available at each school. Carts containing the devices will be checked out through the media center, according to IT Director Bryan Freeman. Google is constantly adding new options to the library, Freeman said.
