Pharmacy burglary suspects in Habersham jail

The two suspects charged in last month’s burglary at the Fieldale Family Health Center pharmacy in Baldwin are now in the Habersham County jail. 22-year old Elliott Mattox and 20-year old Chelsie Hill of Sylva, North Carolina, were moved from the Towns County Detention Center to Habersham yesterday.

Authorities say Elliott Mattox is the suspect seen in surveillance video captured during the Dec. 13 burglary.

Mattox and Hill were arrested January 2 in Hiawassee after they were located and arrested by drug agents. Police executed a search warrant on a residence where they’d been staying. Baldwin Police Chief Chad Nichols says officers recovered clothing seen worn by one of the suspects in a surveillance video taken during the burglary on December 13.

Nichols identifies the suspect in the video as Mattox. Hill allegedly drove the getaway car. Both are charged with one count of burglary each.

Nichols says a large amount of narcotics was taken during the burglary. Authorities in Georgia and North Carolina are still investigating to determine what happened to the stolen drugs.
