Breakfast in the ‘Sham at Crossroads Cafe

a3f41ec4-6360-4d0f-b89b-10592ae83f5e   Our featured Breakfast in the ‘Sham restaurant this week is Crossroads Cafe, west of Clarkesville on Hwy 115. Crossroads Cafe is owned by Jo White, and has been in the same location for over 15 years…remarkable, since many restaurants tend to come and go over time.

There are a number of things that make Crossroads Cafe an excellent choice for breakfast in Habersham, and which also explain why it has become a favorite place for a morning meal for so many years.
2d3e65bf-e34f-4919-ac20-23e62fa2b1d7Before we even tried several selected breakfast entrees the chicken biscuit sandwiches stole the show. Each delicately fried chicken breast weighs an astounding 8.5 ounces…the largest we saw in visiting seven local restaurants in Habersham, and likely, twice the weight of the popularly offered breakfast chicken biscuit at a national restaurant chain located in Habersham. Those are good, too, but Crossroads Chicken Biscuit is undoubtedly the tenderest, largest this reviewer has ever come across. (I ate mine without the biscuit to cut carbs, but the biscuits are large, square and homemade.)

We walked into the Cafe and were greeted by upbeat 1980s music playing in the back ground, a big screen TV on the far wall, and the morning hum of country folks enjoying hot coffee, excellent service and the smell of breakfast pouring through the kitchen door. I have enjoyed sun rise meals in 42 countries across the globe in the last 25 years, and hands down, the Crossroads Chicken Biscuit is the best. Drizzle with honey; you’re good ‘till lunch. And it is only $2.19. Add steamy hot black coffee, and you are out the door for under $4.

The servers were top notch, Rebekah tended to our breakfast needs, and we watched all the servers providing constant attention to all customers. We are happy to rate Crossroads Cafe a very solid five stars as our second Breakfast in the ‘Sham restaurant. Congratulations!
