(Cleveland)- The White County Sheriff’s Office released information Monday about an accidental shooting in the county Sunday afternoon.
Sheriff’s Department Spokesman Captain Tim Chapman said by email, “we were dispatched to 745 Holiness Campground Road. The victim, Travis Cook had been camping with family and his hand gun fell out of his holster into some mud. Cook advised that he never carries the gun with a round chambered and advised that the round must have been accidentally chambered while his son in law was trying to clean the gun. Mr. Cook advised that he was going to clean the gun when he got home and pulled the trigger, accidentally shooting himself in the left leg.”
The incident occurred around 3:30 PM Sunday.
