The Truett-McConnell University baseball program just completed a twenty-nine win season, setting the school record for wins in a season.
It also had a first team All-Conference selection in freshmen third baseman Patrick Overstreet, who also set the school record for homeruns in a season (13). The Bears also placed nine student/athletes on the All-Academic list: Caleb Buchanan, Chris Carden, Andrew Fogarty, Tate Gaines, Casey Guilliams, Caleb Hardy, Michael Long, Jared Oliver, and Levi Thompson. As a unit the team achieved a 3.14 GPA this past year.
The Bears have seen a steady increase in production both on and off the field over the past four years. The baseball program also just completed its second full year of small group discipleship in which local pastors, church members, and coaches participate in disciplining a small group of three team members throughout the year.
These men lead their small group in weekly meetings, sharing meals together, studying scripture, and encouraging the young men in their walk with Jesus Christ. The program is grateful to God for these men and the student/athletes that contribute so much to our University and baseball program.
