Alleged drug traffickers arrested in Cleveland

Five alleged drug traffickers from White County are in custody following a year long investigation by local and state authorities. Two others were arrested Friday on drug possession charges.

Mitchell Posey with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) says his agency along with the White County Sheriff’s Office, Cleveland Police Department and Department of Community Supervision executed search warrants on June 10th at 766 Albert Reid Road and 96 Greenview Court in Cleveland.

In a press release Posey says the investigation netted approximately ½ pound of methamphetamine, money derived from drug sales, and firearms. The street value of the illegal narcotics seized during the investigation is approximately $24,640.   

The following suspects were arrested in connection with the investigation: 38-year old Raymond Marcus Swann,  27-year old Joshua Lewis Reed, 23-year old Alysia Ann Shaft and 34-year old David Lee Bell, all of Cleveland. They’re charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. 23-year old Jordan Thomas Grissom, also of Cleveland, is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender probationer.

29-year old Dustin Jerome Holbrook of Cleveland is charged with possession of methamphetamine, and 38-year-old Chuck Nelson Wehunt of Dahlonega is charged with possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.


 

The Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is a multi-agency unit that consists of the following Sheriff’s Offices: White County, Lumpkin County, Towns County, Banks County, Habersham County, Stephens County, and Rabun County, along with the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the Department of Public Safety, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
