Fieldale pharmacy burglary suspects arrested

Authorities say Elliott Mattox is the suspect seen in surveillance video captured during the Dec. 13 burglary.

Two people are in custody in connection with a recent burglary at the Fieldale Family Health Center pharmacy in Baldwin.

Baldwin Police Chief Chad Nichols says 22-year old Elliott Mattox and 20-year old Chelsie Hill of Sylva, North Carolina, were arrested yesterday, Jan. 2,  in Hiawassee. Nichols says agents with the North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office located and arrested the pair and obtained a search warrant for a residence in Hiawassee where the two had been staying.

The Towns County Sheriff’s Office and Baldwin Police Department assisted in the execution of the search warrant where items relating to the Fieldale Pharmacy burglary were found.

Officials have not yet released details of what led them to the suspects. Mattox and Hill are currently in the Towns County Detention Center awaiting transport to Habersham County.
