5 traffic fatalities reported in Georgia over Christmas

At least five people were killed on Georgia’s roads during the long Christmas holiday, the State Patrol reports.

Fatal wrecks were reported in Villa Rica, Thomasville, Paulding, and Fayetteville. No fatalities were reported in Northeast Georgia.

The Christmas travel period officially began on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, December 26.

The New Year’s holiday travel period begins at 6 p.m. Monday, December 30, and ends at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

Last year, 25 people died in wrecks on Georgia’s roads during the holiday travel period.
