5 residents displaced by Gainesville house fire

A fire in Gainesville burned five people out of their home on Wednesday afternoon. Two of them ended up at the hospital.

Firefighters from Hall County and Gainesville responded to the house fire on the 1000 block of Jordan Drive around 2:20 p.m. on Oct. 16. When they arrived, the single-family home with a basement was fully engulfed in flames, says Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger.

According to Ledsinger, crews quickly knocked down the blaze from the outside and conducted a primary search. The house was clear, but the five occupants were displaced. Ambulances transported two to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for evaluation.

The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
