A weekend stabbing in Banks County left two people injured and five others facing criminal charges.
The Banks County Sheriff’s Office reports a male victim was stabbed Saturday night after he intervened in an argument between suspect Adam Cecil Workman and a female victim.
In a press release, BCSO says a “physical altercation ensued” during which time three other men allegedly held down the male victim while the 30-year old Workman stabbed him in the calf and upper thigh.
The female victim sustained minor injuries when a woman, identified as 55-year old Marie Charlotte Croy, threw a heavy object at her during the altercation.
All five suspects were arrested Saturday. They’re all listed as having Queen Road addresses.
Adam Workman is charged with aggravated assault. His alleged accomplices – 58-year old Cecil Edward Workman, 50-year old Ricky Joe Croy and 35-year old Billy Michael Long – are charged with false imprisonment and simple battery. Marie Croy is charged with simple battery.
Long also is charged with abandonment of a dependent child.
The victims’ names were not released. The stabbing victim was transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
