Several people are recovering from injuries after a wreck that snarled traffic on Highway 365 in Cornelia Monday afternoon. It happened at the intersection of 365 and Duncan Bridge Road.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a driver in the northbound right turn lane made an improper lane change and struck a Fieldale truck that was crossing the intersection.
75-year-old Julian Cornelius Webb of Montgomery, Texas, told troopers he exited the turn lane to continue north towards Clayton. The front of Webb’s 2012 Chevrolet Silverado K150 pickup truck struck the front of the 2013 Mack 600 feed hauler.
Webb and three of the four passengers in his pickup were transported by ambulance to Habersham Medical Center.
Officials say Webb and 67-year-old Charles Reed of Allentown, PA, suffered non-incapacitating injuries. 63-year old Debbie Weeks of Sparks, GA, and 77-year-old Ada Webb were transported for possible injuries. 69-year old Bobby Mercer of Millville CA, was uninjured.
