Four people were injured, three of them seriously, when a pickup truck pulled into traffic on GA 365 from a side road, state troopers say.
The crash happened around 6:22 p.m. on May 9 in the northbound lanes at the intersection with Charlie Davis Road in Baldwin.
Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa investigated the crash. The preliminary investigation shows Armando Jose Juan Antonio, 27, of Cornelia, was driving a Ford F-150, attempting to cross the highway. He failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign on Charlie Davis Road and pulled into the path of a northbound Nissan Rogue driven by Dalia Lucero, 27, of Toccoa.
The impact caused the pickup truck to overturn. The Nissan then struck a Chevy Cruze driven by 27-year-old Georgia Line of Alto.
The wreck seriously injured Antonio and Lucero and an adult passenger in the pickup, Mario Felix, 32, of Cornelia. A second passenger in the pickup, 10-year-old Vernardo Antonio, sustained minor injuries.
The wreck did not injure Line.
Habersham EMS transported the four injured patients to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.
The investigating trooper charged Antonio with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign.
The crash on GA 365 was at least the third wreck involving an overturned vehicle in Habersham County on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, a dump truck overturned on Yonah Post Road in Alto after state troopers say the driver made an improper turn while driving too fast for conditions. Several hours later, two people were injured in a single-vehicle wreck on Habersham Mills Road.
