34 UGA Bulldogs competing in 2024 Paris Olympics

The summer Olympics kicked off in Paris, France, on Friday. Nearly three dozen current, former, and future University of Georgia students are on the roster to compete.

The delegation of 34 athletes will be joined by eight individuals participating in coaching, operations, media relations, and broadcasting roles. The entire contingent will participate in 9 different sports and represent 20 different nations, including eight on Team USA.

Track and field supplies the largest block of athletes and coaches, with 23 Bulldogs competing in Paris. Swimming follows with six and tennis with three. The 2024 delegation is the second-largest in Georgia athletic history, trailing only the 36 sent to Rio in 2016.

The Paris Games began July 26 with an Opening Ceremony met with mixed reviews. The Games run through Sunday, Aug. 11.

GeorgiaDogs.com and Georgia athletics social media accounts will provide full coverage of Bulldog athletes in Paris throughout the games.
