The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a wreck that hurt three people Tuesday afternoon, shutting down Highway 17 near the White County line for three hours.
The two-vehicle wreck happened between Mill Run and the White County line and blocked both lanes of traffic.
Units from Habersham County Emergency Services, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, and White County Fire Services responded to the scene shortly before 2 p.m.
“Units arrived within five minutes and began minor extrication on someone inside the overturned RV involved,” says Habersham County Public Information Officer Rob Moore.
By 2:06 p.m., the driver of the passenger car involved was extricated and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville for treatment. An ambulance transported two other patients to the hospital.
Ga. 17 remained closed between Ga. 255 Alternate and Highway 255 North at the Old Sautee Store until 4:50 p.m. when the towing company removed the RV from the road.
