3-Day Goodwill Hiring Event Underway

Are you looking for a job? Then here is some good news. Goodwill is hiring. Tomorrow, Wednesday August 26, at the Community House in Cornelia (601 Wyly Street) from 9am to 2pm.

Scheduled to open on September 24th, Goodwill is looking to fill 50 positions for their new Cornelia store, along with 20 additional candidates as backup.

More than 100 applicants showed up at the Cornelia Community House Tuesday on the first day of the 3-day hiring event.

Working in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Labor, the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission, and the Georgia Mountains Workforce Development, Goodwill has everything needed on site to complete the application process. From background checks and drug testing, to all of the paperwork. All of it is done the same day. You will know if you have a job before you leave. No waiting.

Qualifications

Candidates must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or GED, bring valid identification and be able to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test. It is also recommended that interview attire is worn.

If any jobs are left unfilled by the end of the day Tuesday, the remaining positions will be filled through the Georgia Department of Labor/Habersham Career Center (215 Hodges Street, Suite 205, Cornelia, GA) on Thursday August 27th.
