Fall festival fun is in the air in downtown Cornelia as the city prepares for its 28th Annual Big Red Apple Festival.
Final preparations are now underway for one of Habersham County’s oldest and most highly anticipated festivals. The 28th Annual Big Red Apple Festival will be held Saturday, October 10 from 10am-4pm in downtown Cornelia.
The Festival will feature live music and dancing throughout the day. There will be homemade arts and crafts, commercial and local retail store vendors and food…lots of it! Come hungry and enjoy snacks and meals from local eateries such as El Patron, Dairy Queen, The Dawg House and Blue Moose Sweet Shop, just to name a few.
The Kids Zone will have bounce houses, rock climbing, pony rides, face painting and many other attractions. Other events include: A book sale at the Cornelia Library; horseshoe tournament behind the library; and hayrides to the Chenoceetah Fire Tower. The tower will be open for tours on Saturday, so, if you’ve never had the chance to view the inside of Chenocetah Tower this is the perfect opportunity.
Beyond the shopping and eating, there are plenty of other activities for adults to enjoy. There will be a car show by Fender’s Diner on Irvin Street with a large display of classic cars and Whistle Top Brew Co. will serve some of its craft beers downtown.
