My cell still rings with enthusiasm as I type this article to you. I love the conversation I just finished with D.J. Collins, a young man on the move for Christ. The enthusiasm in his voice is contagious about what is happening in Northeast Georgia. Inspired by a vision he had of people of all colors coming together and worshiping God, Collins (a member of Free Chapel in Gainesville ) and Donatus Carroll (River Point Church in Demorest) put together a team to start a process of change.
“We are praying against poverty, racism, and the legalistic views of religion (i.e. requirements of salvation instead of the truth of the gospel),” the twenty-one year old Collins explained.
River Point Community Church offered to be the host church, and the community has come together to bring this important night to fruition. It will be a night of music, devotion, inspiring speakers, and intimate prayer. People of all ages are welcomed to come. For those parents who might have concerns, there will be adult volunteers who will supervise the night.
Collins spoke of particular times in which he was most excited, “From 12:00 noon on Saturday until 1:00 pm, we are calling together mothers. As it is written in Jeremiah 9:17 – 21, ‘Consider now! Call for the wailing women to come; send for the most skillful of them. Let them come quickly and wail over us till our eyes overflow with tears and water streams from our eyelids.'”
There will be talent from all over the community, taking an hour at a time for praise and prayer.
From 3:00 am until 7:00 am, come and experience corporate prayer to address the concerns of our times, culture, and world.
The 24 Hour Revival Worship begins Friday, August 5th at 7:00 pm at River Point Community church located at 350 Ansley Rd, Demorest, GA 30535. It will end Saturday, August 6th at 7:00pm.
1 Chronicles 16:11, “Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.”
