2-year-old girl struck and killed Monday night in White County

SAUTEE NACOOCHEE — The Georgia State Patrol says no charges will be filed in the death of a 2-year old Monday night in White County.

Cpl. B.D. Taylor with Georgia State Patrol in Gainesville said a trooper responded to the accident call involving a 2014 Honda CR-V Sports Utility Vehicle and a pedestrian. The crash occurred on a private drive located at 930 Woodland Road, Sautee Nacoochee.

The driver of the vehicle was 73-year old Larry Flowers, of Sautee Nacoochee.

Cpl. Taylor said Flowers was turning into the driveway of 930 Woodland Road when he struck the two-year-old that was running in the driveway.

According to Taylor, due to the incline of the driveway and height of the pedestrian, Mr. Flowers was unable to see the pedestrian.

The youth was identified as Flowers’ granddaughter, Isabella Rider, of Gainesville. Officials say she died at the scene.
