A 5-month narcotics investigation in North Georgia ended with two arrests and the seizure of tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs, officials say. Both men arrested are from Gainesville.

On Wednesday, February 3, drug agents took 43-year-old Richard Heath Milligan and 39-year-old Charles Patrick Minor into custody after executing a search warrant in Hall County. During their investigation, agents say they seized approximately two kilograms of methamphetamine, along with two firearms, and approximately four thousand dollars cash.

They estimate the street value of the methamphetamine that was seized at around $27,000.

Officials charged Mulligan with trafficking methamphetamine, distribution of a controlled substance, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Minor was charged with possession of methamphetamine and a probation violation.

The multi-agency investigation was conducted by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Georgia State Patrol, Department of Community Supervision, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office.

Special Agent in Charge of ARDEO, Trent Hillsman, says the investigation is still active and ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
