Habersham County Public Works crews continue to repair roads damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Delta. The biggest project is on New Liberty Road near Clarkesville, which county officials estimate will cost $1 million to repair.

As work progresses, the county will set up a detour to ensure workers and drivers’ safety.

Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 21, crews will close off traffic on New Liberty Road between Ben Jones and Waco Smith Roads. Traffic will be detoured along Ben Jones Road, State Route 197, and Shoal Creek Road.

County officials did not say when they expect the road to reopen.
