Zeb Lackey has been named the new head baseball coach at East Hall High School. Lackey is entering his second year with the Vikings where he’s served as an assistant baseball coach, Physical Education teacher, and Assistant Athletic Director. He is starting his tenth year of teaching and thirteenth year of coaching.
Lackey previously served as assistant baseball coach at Riverside Military Academy from 2011-2018, and as the head coach there in 2019.
A native of Statham, Georgia, Lackey graduated from Winder-Barrow High school in 2006 and was a member of the 2006 region championship team. He attended Emmanuel College on a baseball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2010.
“Coach Lackey is dedicated to our baseball program and has already formed a great bond with the players after one season with our students,” says East Hall High’s Athletic Director Adam Rich. “We are excited to see the program continue to strive under Coach Lackey, and we are looking forward to watching him push our baseball team to take the next step as a program.”
Zeb, his wife Katelyn, and two sons Bodi, 2, and Boston, 3 months, live in Hoschton. He is a member of Bethlehem Church. During his downtime, Coach Lackey enjoys hanging out with the family and playing golf.
