Police are investigating a Monday night shooting in Athens that left one person injured.
According to a news release from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department (ACCPD), officers responded to a call of discharging firearms at Parkview Homes around 11:48 p.m. on August 5.
When police got to the scene, they found a 19-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds.
“Officers rendered life-saving efforts until emergency medical services arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition,” says ACCPD Public Information Assistant Geoff Gilland.
