Telford Junior “Peanut” Hilland, age 61, of Alto, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015.
Born on February 13, 1954, in Hall County, he was the son of the late Olin and Annie Wilson Hilland. Mr. Hilland was retired from Scovill Manufacturing with 36 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, NASCAR and model cars. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include wife of 32 years, Merle Clark Hilland of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Dwayne Blair of Clarkesville; daughter, Deborah Moore of Clarkesville; granddaughter raised in the home, Kayla Hilland Wade of Alto; other grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Jessica Moore Chupp, Nicole Ritchie, Victoria Moore, Ashley Hilland and Tabitha Smith; great grandchildren, Jayden, Jade and Jetta; sisters, Marie Haynes and Dorothy Dyer both of Gainesville and Phyllis Roberts of Mt. Airy; mother-in-law, Gwynne Clark of Cornelia; sister-in-law, Cathy Clark of Baldwin; brother-in-law, Alton (Beryle) Clark of Alto.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 4, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Raymond Payne officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the funeral home.
