Carolyn Bellew Hallford, age 85 of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Bentley Assisted Living at Northminster in Jefferson following an extended illness.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on October 26, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Toy & Rachel Miller Bellew. Mrs. Hallford was a graduate of Baldwin High School and retired from Clarkesville Mill with many years of service. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother. Mrs. Hallford was a wonderful cook, enjoyed reading, & working puzzles. She also enjoyed meeting with the “Breakfast Bunch” at various restaurants. Mrs. Hallford was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and also attended Habersham Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry A. Hallford; brother, Alvin Bellew & sister, Martha Ruth Raper.
Survivors include her children, Tracie & Paul Irby of Flowery Branch, GA; Randall & Cindy Hallford of Demorest, GA; Baird Hallford of Clarkesville, GA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Sydney & Brenda Bellew of Charlotte, NC; Douglas & Vivian Bellew of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Lew & Jennifer Hallford of Demorest, GA; Pastor Megan & Cris Gomez of Winder, GA; Caroline Irby of Atlanta, GA; Christopher Irby of Flowery Branch, GA; great-grandchildren, Addisyn & Ayden Hallford both of Demorest, GA; Eliana Gomez of Winder, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
The family wishes to thank all of Mrs. Carolyn’s special caregivers of the Rose Lane Hall at Bentley Assisted Living at Northminster in Jefferson.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Habersham Cemetery with Pastor Megan Gomez officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday.
