Athens-Clarke County Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a popular community park early Thursday morning.
The deceased 34-year-old was found at Southeast Clarke Park on Whit Davis Road around 7:25 a.m. on July 27.
“The investigation is ongoing pending results from the crime lab to determine the cause and manner of death,” says police department spokesperson Lt. Jody Thompson.
Thompson says a county employee found the body when the park opened. Based on the preliminary investigation, she says “foul play is not suspected.”
