White County Board of Education Chair Missy Jarrard said following the millage rate approval, “I think this shows the wise decision that this board, as well as the superintendent and our financial director, Lauren Anderson, have made with our finances, and I hope that it is a little way of showing the community how we are doing all we can to take very good care of the taxpayers’ money.”

Lauren Anderson, school finance director, in detailing the budget, told the board that 60 percent of the budget is going to instruction and that there is a healthy fund balance should that be needed to meet the funding needs during the year.
