Winter a distant memory

It’s been a week since we saw snow reach North Georgia. The coming 5 days will make that seem like a very distant memory.

We will start off the week just a tad cooler behind the front with highs in the mid-60s for most (low-60s in the mountains). This cooler weather won’t last long with temperatures quickly heating up. By Wednesday we’ll reach back into the mid-70s, just a couple degrees below records. Some isolated showers are possible overnight Tuesday and again late on Wednesday as a disturbance moves through.

Clouds will maintain into Thursday as our next weather system approaches from the west. Showers will spread into the area by Friday, but right now look only scattered at best. Showers will likely continue into overnight Friday and early Saturday morning but overall light totals are currently expected.

Despite what you may have seen on social media, there is no big cold outbreak currently expected anytime soon with the majority of modeling keeping us warm for the next 10-14+ days.
