A wanted murder suspect and two other individuals were arrested during a drug investigation in Gainesville this week, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Investigators with the HCSO Special Investigations Unit (SIU) obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 1500 block of Woodland Way. Due to the potential presence of firearms and the unknown number of occupants, the HCSO SWAT Team executed the search at approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, says HCSO spokesperson Derreck Booth.
Inside the home, authorities located 18-year-old Kyland Rochod Williams of Monroe. Williams, who was wanted on charges of malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault in a Gainesville Police Department case, attempted to escape by climbing down the back deck but was quickly apprehended by SWAT officers. Investigators say Williams had been staying at the residence.
After securing the home, Booth says SIU seized an estimated $13,000 worth of illegal drugs, including:
- 2 grams of cocaine
- 280 THC vape cartridges
- 12 ounces of THC wax
- Approximately 3.5 pounds of marijuana
- Authorities also confiscated three firearms—an AK pistol, AR pistol, and a handgun—as well as approximately $1,000 in cash.

Two other residents, 18-year-old Cruz Alejandro Vargas and 19-year-old Angel Miguel Carrera were arrested in connection with the drugs.
Vargas faces felony charges including the sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of THC oil with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Carrera is charged with felony possession of THC oil and misdemeanor possession of drugs not in the original container.
All three suspects were booked into the Hall County Jail and are being held without bond. Additional arrests and charges may follow.
The operation was carried out with assistance from the HCSO Warrant Service Unit and Uniform Patrol Division.
