Hurricane Nate has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression. The storm system is currently tracking on a northeasterly trajectory, bringing heavy rains and high winds to North Georgia.

The following WATCHES and ADVISORIES are in effect for Habersham and surrounding areas:

FLASH FLOOD WATCH remains in effect from 8PM this evening through Monday morning. Affected areas include portions of northeast Georgia, western North Carolina, and upstate South Carolina, including Habersham, Rabun, and Stephens Counties.

WIND ADVISORY remains in effect until 4 AM Monday. The National Weather Service says strong winds associated with Tropical Depression Nate will impact portions of the area Sunday evening through Monday morning. Expect southeasterly winds 20 to 30 MPH with gusts up to 40MPH. Strong winds are expected to blow down some trees and possibly power lines. A few power outages may occur.
