Part of GA 105/Cannon Bridge Road was shut down for more than two hours Monday after a tractor trailer ran off the road, down an embankment, and overturned. The accident happened around 9:27 a.m. Monday.. The truck was driven by 40-year-old Jason Jerry Allison of Demorest, according to State Troopers.
Allison and a witness told Troopers a northbound vehicle traveled into the southbound lane causing Allison to swerve to avoid being hit.
The truck was hauling gravel. The load spilled onto the west side of GA 105. The gravel didn’t block the roadway, but the both lanes of GA 105 between Smith Loop Road and Old Cleveland Highway were shut down for approximately 2.5 hours as the truck was righted and moved.
