TOCCOA, GA — Police are investigating several recent vehicle thefts reported in multiple neighborhoods across the city, according to a statement from Toccoa Police Chief Bruce Carlisle.
Carlisle said officers are actively following leads to identify those responsible. While the department continues its investigation, he urged residents to take simple precautions that can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim.
“Residents are strongly encouraged to keep their vehicle doors locked, remove valuables, and avoid leaving keys inside the vehicle,” Carlisle said. Staying alert in your neighborhood, he added, remains “one of the most effective tools we have.”
Carlisle also encouraged the public to report any suspicious activity.
“If you see something that doesn’t look right, report it,” he said. “Your awareness helps us keep Toccoa safe.”
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact the Toccoa Police Department.
