Head coach LaKisya Killingsworth has released the 2016 schedule for the Truett McConnell volleyball team.
The schedule features 12 home matches, including two tri-match dates, and a tournament at the beginning of the season.
The schedule kicks off in Cleveland for two of the first three matches. On August 26, the Lady Bears will open the season against Brewton-Parker for Middle School Night in the Bear Cave. After starting Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play in Waleska on August 30 at Reinhardt, TMU will return to its home floor to take on Bryan College in AAC play on September 6.
After the first three matches, the Lady Bears will head to Augusta, Georgia, to take part in the Purple Paw Classic, a four-team round-robin tournament hosted by Paine College, on September 9 and 10.
Truett McConnell will host its first tri-match of the season on September 24, as the Lady Bears welcome AAC opponents Bluefield and Montreat to The Bear Cave to start a four-game home stand. The home stand ends on High School Night as TMU takes on Toccoa Falls on September 29.
Five days later, the Lady Bears will take part in their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night against St. Andrews on October 4. The Lady Bears will join forces with the Side Out Foundation and Dig Pink! to raise funds for breast cancer research.
After the second tri-match date on October 15, the Lady Bears will finish the home slate with three home matches concluding with the October 25 match against Milligan. Then, three more away matches stand between the Lady Bears and the AAC Tournament, hosted in Kingsport, Tennessee, on November 10-12.
