Tamela “Tammy” Elizabeth Orr Etheridge

On December 22, 2020, we lost our irreplaceable wife and best friend, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend Tamela Elizabeth Orr Etheridge.

From a very early age, Tammy developed a love for travel from her parents. Her favorite trip was to Padre Island. This carried into her married life as she and her husband, Jan, traveled throughout the US and abroad, with the USAF. She developed a passion for teaching from her dad, and as her family grew, she selflessly sacrificed a personal career in order to homeschool her three children. This afforded her and her family the freedom to travel and learn. Tammy had many talents and hobbies and an eye for decorating, baking, cooking, event planning, writing, gardening, continued learning…and so much more. One of her favorite hobbies was crafting special gifts for her family and loved ones. Her generous heart was obvious to all who knew her.

Tammy’s greatest passion, besides worshiping the Lord, was her grandkids. She was crazy about her grandkids!!! Over the last twelve years, Tammy showed tremendous faith, courage, and strength as she contended with several challenges concerning her health. She didn’t let any of that hinder her from living her life to the fullest. Tammy lived how she wanted to live – there was no deterring her. Because of her passion and drive for the things she loved, this enabled her to walk on an earthly beach once again last month. There will never be a day that goes by that we will not miss our irreplaceable Hon, Marmie, Ma, Merf, Grammy, Granmerf, and Tammy.
