The effects of Nicole have moved off to the northeast as the system continues to fall apart.
Late Thursday, the storm was downgraded to a tropical depression and as of 4PM Thursday the system officially dissipated.
Winds from the storm ranged mostly from 10-20MPH, weaker than anticipated, but some gusts of 20-30mph were reported at higher elevations.
We did see much needed rainfall across the region with 1-2″ falling over the northwestern portions to 2-3″ over most of Habersham, White and Stephens Counties. The Cornelia fire station reported 2.68″ from the storm.
Further north over portions of Western North Carolina widespread flooding occurred with some areas receiving in excess of 7-8″ of rainfall.
Behind Nicole a cold front is expected on Saturday with much colder weather by Sunday.
