Stephen Wendell Justice, age 64, of Cornelia, Georgia, made his journey home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 31, 2023, following an extended illness.
Born in Demorest, Georgia, on August 11, 1958, he was a son of the late James Lee & Sally Louise Segars Justice. Wendell was a mechanic with over 30 years of expertise in the automotive industry. He was the owner/operator of Transmission Pro Shop for over 11 years before retirement in 2007. In his spare time, Wendell enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a passion for making music with his bass guitar at church, restoring old cars, fishing, camping, and gardening. He was a faithful member of Good News Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Lee Justice, his sister, Velma Justice Waddell, & niece, Lisa Waddell York.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Elaine Smith Justice of Cornelia, GA; children, Amy Justice Nation & her husband, Johnny, Sr.; son, Stacey Justice, all of Cornelia, GA; Debbie Purcell & her husband, Brent of Carnesville, GA; brothers & sister-in-law, Virgil Justice of Toccoa, GA; Fred & Teresa Justice of Cornelia, GA; step-sister, Nancy Glenn of Lavonia, GA; grandchildren, Brianna Justice, Hannah Justice, Christian Justice, Isaiah Justice, Lanie Mae Justice, Justin & Jamie Gosnell, Matthew Gosnell, Johnny Nation, Jr., Christopher & Shannon Purcell; great-grandchild, Grady Purcell; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 03, 2023, at the Good News Baptist Church with Rev. Austin Kelley & Mr. Robbie Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with Rev. Chris York officiating at the graveside.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. & from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 02, 2023.
