Ronald “Ron” Lamar Carroll

Funeral services for Ronald “Ron” Lamar Carroll, age 68 of Turnerville will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Maness will officiate with interment to follow the service in the Jones Family Cemetery.

Mr. Carroll passed away Monday, March 12, 2018.

Born in Habersham County on November 17, 1949, Mr. Carroll was the son of the late Herman and Mary Collier Ramey Carroll.  Mr. Carroll was a United States Army and Army National Guard Veteran having served in the Vietnam War.  He attended North Georgia Technical College and graduated from Truett-McConnell College where he studied Psychology and Criminal Justice.  Mr. Carroll was on the Volunteer Board of Rabun County Recreation Department and served on the board of Tallulah Gorge State Park.  He was a 5th Degree Blackbelt in Hapkido and he was retired with 35 years of loyal service from the fabrication shop at Fieldale Farms.  Mr. Carroll was a member of Chambley Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Carroll is preceded in death by daughter Gayle Irvin, sister Cathy Collier, grandmother Ida Jones Ramey, and brother in law Randy Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Linda Kilby Carroll of Turnerville, daughters and sons in law Brandie and Oscar Valdes of Clarkesville and Lislie R. And Danny Lewallen of Alto, sister Judy Smith of Clarkesville, aunt Brenda Wade of Alto, grandchildren Amber, Joshua, Rebeka, Kagun, and Oscar, Jr., as well as great grandchildren Aiden, Dax, Harold, Ansley, and Mason.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
