A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two suspects who broke into a Cornelia pawn shop earlier this month.
The pair broke into Gene’s Pawn Shop at 122 Old Cleveland Road during the early morning hours of February 1, 2016.
Surveillance video shows one of the suspects using an axe to bust out a door window to gain entry. Another suspect emerges from the parking lot carrying a backpack and both quickly disappear into the store. The suspects are wearing coats, gloves and hats with their faces fully covered. The video shows them looking into an empty handgun display case before leaving the store empty-handed.
Cornelia Police Chief Chad Smith says, “The Criminal Investigative Division is actively investigating all leads.” No arrests have been made.
