While businesses and restaurants were preparing for increased foot traffic in Clarkesville during Friday’s Sip and Stroll, Lily Luke, a Demorest Elementary third grader, was getting ready to survey shoppers.
She says she’s learning about data and graphing in Ms. Holbrook’s class, and that she’s really enjoying it. She wanted to go out Friday and collect some data of her own.
Set up outside of Erin London on the Clarkesville square, Luke conducted a survey to find out which animal people liked best. Her choices? Dog, cat, cheetah, dragon and unicorn. She says dogs were winning by a longshot.
“I wanted to do this for my teacher— I just like doing it,” Luke said. “I knew there was an event, and a lot of people would be coming by because of the stores here.”
