Life in Motion: It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Clarkesville is getting into the holiday spirit. City work crews started decorating downtown trees with Christmas lights this week.

The city traditionally wraps the trees in white lights and asks business owners to string white lights outside their storefronts.

The city will be awash in white twinkling lights when it hosts its annual Christmas celebration in December.

A Downtown Clarkesville Christmas is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019. The evening’s events will include traditional favorites such as pictures with Santa, hot cocoa, carols, and choirs. There will be an open fire pit for roasting marshmallows and the city will cap off the event with its annual tree lighting.
