Kerry “Monk” Lee Wiley

Kerry “Monk” Lee Wiley, age 65, of Lula, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Wiley was the son of the late A.W. and Versie Wiley. He retired from Hall County School System and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He loved to joke. In his younger days, Monk loved team roping and anything with a motor and wheels. In his later years, he enjoyed cross fitting with his kids and playing with his grandson. On Friday nights, you could find Monk playing cards with his brothers and friends. Mondays were always reserved for the “junk sale”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Esther Hawkins; brother-in-law, Jack Hawkins and sister-in-law, Melba Wiley.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Donna Wiley; son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Danielle Wiley of Clermont; daughter and son-in-law, Cassidi and Matthew Woodman of Gainesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior Wiley of Lula, Jackie and Rita Wiley of Murrayville, and Tommy and Debbie Wiley of Cleveland; grandson, Rogue Wiley; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family would like to say a special “thank you” to Dr. Nadella and her team; the Infusion nurses at Northside Cancer Institute; Dr. Levy of Northside Radiology; Dr. Nadelson with Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic; and Northeast Georgia Hospice for the care and love given to Mr. Wiley.
