Kendrick Paul Simmons, Sr. age 43 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Demorest, Georgia on June 25, 1975, he was a son of the late Willie James Simmons & Kayree Carmen Rucker Simmons. Mr. Simmons was raised in Habersham County by his grandmother, the late Gemima “Big Mama” Rucker and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents and grandmother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald “Duke” Rucker.
Survivors include his sons, Kendrick Paul Simmons, Jr. of Homer, GA; Bryson Simmons & Noland Simmons of Habersham County; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony & Carrie Gibson of Cornelia, GA; James Simmons & Lasonya Wiley of Baldwin, GA; Troyce & Cristina Simmons of Clarkesville, GA; sister, Monique Rucker of Homer, GA; special cousins, Dr. Brandon Quillian of Savannah, GA, Steve Quillian of Cornelia, GA, Anthony Quillian of Salisbury, North Carolina, Brian Scott and Todd Rucker both of Ocala, Florida, Renatha Quillian of Cornelia, GA, Tammy Jackson of Warner Robins, GA, Karen Jackson of Cornelia, GA; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Jeryle Roach officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour.
