Hazel Ruth Dean Kimbrell, age 83, of Cornelia, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020.
Born on March 30, 1937, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Bessie Ballew Dean. Mrs. Kimbrell was of the Baptist faith. She worked for many years at Carwood and Duckhead Manufacturing later retiring from Fieldale Corporation. Mrs. Kimbrell was a hard worker who enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Dean, and sisters, Grace McCallister, Mae Ellison, and Lessie Wade.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and James LaCount of Mt. Airy; granddaughter and spouse, Melissa and Chris Pittman of Commerce; great-grandchildren, Jason, Eveson, Brett and Solomon LaCount; brother, David Dean of Illinois; longtime special friend, Willard Irvin of Cornelia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday and from 12 noon until the service hour on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
