The Habersham County School System is among the top 10 most improved in the state.
During the August 14 board of education meeting, Habersham County School Superintendent Matthew Cooper announced that “as a system, we had the best year ever for student achievement last year.”
Out of 179 school districts in Georgia, Habersham currently ranks 39th. That’s a 19-point jump from last year’s standing, according to the school research website SchoolDigger.com.
The rankings are based on student scores on state mandated tests.
